Rome's Legions of the Republic (I)

Rome's Legions of the Republic (I) in chainmail plus Velites and Command

This superb box contains 60 highly detailed Republican Roman legionaries wearing chainmail and light infantry skirmishers.

These figure represent Roman legionaries and light infantry, or Velites, of the early Republic. They are suitable for wars with Pyrrhos of Epeiros, the 1st and 2nd Punic Wars against Carthage and the Macedonian Wars against King Phillip V and King Persus. They can also fight Gauls, Spanish, Numidians, Italians and Seleucids.

The set contains 36 legionaries which can be Hastati or Princeps armed with pilum, or you can make some as Triari by arming them with the long spear. There are 3 Centurions, 3 standard bearers and options to make 3 musicians. Also included are 18 light infantry which can be made as Velites after 211BCE or the earlier skirmisher Leves lightly armed with javelins but no shield or helmet.
